Paris (CDG) to Oslo Gardermoen (OSL)
Depart: Saturday, February 16 at 9:25 AM (Actual 10:00 AM)
Arrival: Saturday, February 16 at 11:45 AM (Actual 12:25 PM)
Aircraft: Airbus A321
Seat: 3C (Economy)
Booking:In my overall report I talked about taking 2 flights to get to Oslo. This was the connection from Paris. I selected a seat in row 2 on the aisle. About a month before, I noticed I had been moved to 3C (a row behind). I assume I had been moved due to more people booking business class tickets and that section got extended.  Remember, intra-Europe flights in business class are just economy with a blocked middle seat and sometimes a meal.

Seat: 16D (Economy)
Booking: As I said in my overall report, this flight was part of a deeply discounted itinerary taking me roundtrip to Oslo for under $470. I was able to select a seat through Air France given my medallion status, however my selection was limited. The extra legroom seats were all at an additional charge, and some closer up seats also had a fee. I selected a center aisle seat, thinking only one person would require me to get up. If I had not had medallion status, these seats would have cost 30 euros to …

Trip Report: To Norway and Back

Image
In August, one of my best friends and I found an incredible deal to fly to Oslo, Norway on Air France, purchased through Delta.

All in, the fare came to $468.71, which was an incredible deal to fly roundtrip to Europe in standard economy.

I was mostly excited as I would finally to get to fly on an A380 on the leg from JFK to Paris CDG.

I would also fly Air France's subsidiary, Joon, which is actually shutting down within the next few months.

We added additional flights on two local carries - Widerøe and Scandinavian Air System (SAS). We would fly a brand new Embraer E-190-E2 from Bergen to Tromsø (seen on top) and a Boeing 737-700 from Tromsø back to Oslo. Unfortunately, no SkyTeam carriers were options for these legs, but I was excited to try 2 new airlines.

The following trip reports will come out over the next few days:
