SkyWest Grows Amidst Delta Connection Restructure

Earlier today, I wrote about Delta's plans to restructure it's regional branch, Delta Connection. Delta plans to cut ties with Compass and GoJet, while relying solely on Endeavor, SkyWest and Republic. Compass and GoJet will likely shrink in size tremendously and lay off a ton of employees.

SkyWest, on the other hand, is rejoicing. Today. they've placed an order for 7 more Embraer E-175 planes. Once delivered, these planes will bring their total count of them up to 160. SkyWest plans to outfit them with 70 seats, due to contract restrictions with Delta. There will be 12 First Class, 20 Delta Comfort+ and 38 Main Cabin seats. The planes can likely fit up to 76 if the contract with pilots is ever renegotiated.
