Delta Launches All Wide-Body Service Between JFK and LAX

On Monday, Delta began its unified service between New York's JFK and Los Angeles LAX airports. Now, all flights between the two airports will be served by Boeing 767-300ER aircrafts. In the past, these flights were operated by Boeing 757-200s, 767-300ERs, 767-400ERs and Airbus A330-200s and A330-300s. Delta is the only US airline to operate wide-body service between JFK and LAX on every flight.

While all planes featured Delta One, the product had a huge variance, from direct aisle reverse herringbone seating on the A330, to a 2-2 configuration on the 757. The premium product on the 767-300ER is among Delta's oldest, but the short 5 hour hop is fine enough.

The biggest winners are those in Comfort+ and Main Cabin. With a 2-3-2 layout, each row has only one middle seat and some of Delta's widest seats. I'll be checking out the service on Friday and Monday of this upcoming week and look forward to reporting back.
